Dutch eLISA science community

In 2013 ESA has decided on the science themes for the next two large missions (L2 and L3 with launches in 2028 and 2034). The eLISA gravitational wave mission is selected as L3. A white paper describing the exciting science can be found here and is supported by more than 1200 scientists.

A team of Dutch scientists has the ambition for the Netherlands to join the eLISA consortium in order to get involved in the science that can be done with the eLISA data. They have formed the eLISA-NL science community, which will coordinate the science related to the eLISA science. The team consists of people from the Radboud University, University of Amsterdam, Nikhef, Leiden University, SRON, Groningen University, TNO and VU University. The current members are:

  • Gijs Nelemans (Astrophysics, RU)
  • Anna Watts (Astrophysics, UvA)
  • Ana Achucarro (Physics, UL)
  • Ben Braam (TNO)
  • Chris van den Broeck (Physics, Nikhef)
